Sele
17th century manor in Wiltshire with barn, garden, shepherd's huts and land
Period features, manor house, manicured gardens, river, fields, barn, land, and shepherds hut. Located 10 miles from Salisbury.
Sele is a truly magnificent 17th century manor house with gorgeous gardens and events space. A wonderful space for brand shoots and retreats, the interior of the house radiates historic grandeur and charm, with chic antiques and beautiful historic features like stone mullion windows with leaded lights, cosy window seats, grand staircases and old oak floors. The barns and outbuildings are also steeped in history and have been sympathetically converted into accommodation and offer scope for a multitude of uses including workshops and yoga.
Outdoors, there are formal gardens alongside streams, rivers, paddocks and fields nestled into the wider Wiltshire countryside. There is a lovely potting shed - wonderful for florists and garden brands as well as shepherds' huts. Pretty arched bridges span the stream and mature trees and planting make for many different shoot opportunities here.
Sele also offers accommodation for brand shoots and stays or retreats.
History and special interest
Sele is an important historic ancient manor, inhabited by a succession of Lords and Earls from the late 17th century. The (now converted) barns and outbuildings were built a century later in the 18th century and highlight the importance of agriculture in the heritage of this estate, which continues on their farm lands to this day.
