Scype
An untouched 14th century thatched Wiltshire pub with flagstone floors and open fires
An untouched thatched pub steeped in history. Located 10 miles from Salisbury.
Scype is a time capsule from the 14th century. This lovely stone built thatched pub could be from any era and is untouched by modern lighting or any features that place it in our current times.
This would be a wonderful location for any filming or photography that required an ancient and timeless drinking place. The interior boasts open fires, beautiful flagstone flooring, dark oak furniture, old doors and exposed beams throughout. The traditional wooden pub bar again could be from any era.
Outside on the green in front of the pub are picnic tables – again the exterior feels untouched by modernity and would also suit any era for filming in particular.
To the side of the pub is another stone building recently renovated to a high standard for self catering accommodation.
History and special interest
Scype is a special untouched place from times gone by, and is Grade II* listed. It has always been a pub!
