Mylen
16th century mill set in 30 acres in Worcestershire with cottages, woodland, fields, streams, gardens and waterfall
Period stone buildings, woodlands, private valley, renovated barns and outbuildings, waterfall and gardens. Mediaeval and post mediaeval features. Located 15 miles from both Kidderminster and Worcester.
Nestled in a private 30 acre valley, Mylen is a historic retreat surrounded by diverse wildlife in its woodlands, ponds, streams and meadows. Outside, romantic orchards, willow strewn watercourses, wildflower meadows combined with warm stone walls and buildings, would make a spectacular setting for any countryside or lifestyle brand and would be magical for family or engagement shoots.
The interiors of the farmhouse and cottages offer cosy spaces with wood burners, butler sinks, stone floors and exposed beams. A pretty rustic shop in a converted stable is also available.
Mylen also offers accommodation in the mill buildings for brand shoot and stays or retreats.
History and special interest
There has been a mill at Mylen since the 12th century with many of the current buildings dating from the 16th century. The Mill was sold away from the larger estate in the 1930s and the mill and farm have thrived since then, secluded in its own timeless valley. Alongside its beautiful architecture you can meet a small flock of rare breed sheep, ducks and chickens.
The current owners have worked tirelessly to encourage wildlife, natural planting and wild flower meadows keeping the property and land as natural as possible. This is evident in the abundance of flora and fauna flourishing in this ancient place. A true retreat in the natural world.
