Morland
A unique WW2 Northamptonshire airfield, with overgrown air raid shelter and brick built generator building
World War two buildings, wooded nature reserve, private woodlands, overgrown ruins, brick built construction, bunker. Located 15 miles from Peterborough.
A unique offering of brick built WW2 buildings, now ruined, providing an eerie and atmospheric location set in overgrown woodlands on the site of a now re-wilded old airfield.
Morland would be a fabulous place for a spooky Halloween photoshoot or music video, or filming of any nature. These include a brick built building, originally housing a generator, now tumble down, decayed and festooned with plant life and graffiti; and a magnificent old underground air raid shelter.
Set in 90 acres of amazing and biodiverse landscape, this old airfield is now a place brimming with nature in all manner of different habitats. The wider nature reserve surrounding the old buildings can be available also subject to availability and additional permission.
Morland also offers treehouse and cabin accommodation to be booked separately and well in advance if required!
History and special interest
The airfield here was converted from pure arable land sometime in the 1940s, after the war, noted environmentalist Miriam Rothschild turned it into one of the original rewilding sites in the UK.
Other history includes Clarke Gable being based there during the second world war as part of a promotional film with the 351st Bomb Group.
