Byrue
An enchanting cottage in the Hampshire New Forest with river frontage and fishing lodge
Newly built but traditional oak framed thatched cottage and lodge on the banks of the river. Located 10 miles from Salisbury in the New Forest.
Nestled in complete privacy in the heart of the New Forest, Byrue weaves historic charm with modern luxury. Despite being recently built this charming oak framed thatched cottage is spacious, light and with carefully curated interiors, elegantly furnished with antique and modern furnishings.
The vaulted, double height living room complete with exposed beams and large fireplace with wood burner is a wonderful space with French doors opening out to the sun terrace. There is a hand built wooden kitchen with range cooker and large dining space, with further dining area just outside.
The bedrooms are luxuriously furnished with antique beds. The bathroom has a free standing roll top bath. Each room has exposed beams and wonderful views. There is further accommodation in the lodge house which has a twin bedroom and bathroom and is beautifully decorated and furnished with large doors out on to a sunny terrace overlooking the river. All these rooms would be wonderful for any countryside or homeware brands, as would the exterior terraces and gardens.
The garden is surrounded by stunning mature trees and manicured grass areas gently slope down to the water’s edge. There are spring fed pools and pretty planted areas around the garden, and a wooden jetty and rowing boat at the riverside. The aspect up towards the house from here is wonderful.
As well as brand opportunities this property would also lend itself well to small wellness retreats and also particularly for those wishing to do wildlife and nature photography with the riverbank teeming with animals such as otters, kingfishers and dragonflies, and the wider New Forest surrounding the house with its iconic ponies, donkeys and deer!
Cyme also offers accommodation for brand shoot and stays or retreats for up to six people.
History and special interest
Despite being newly built Byrue has a timeless quality and appears as if it has been set into this incredible tranquil spot in the ancient New Forest protected area for centuries, with its stunning traditional oak frame and thatched roof.
The river is also teaming with life including otters and kingfishers.
Yet because it is not ancient, and despite vintage style furnishing, it retains a fresh clean and light quality which will suit photoshoots very well indeed.
