Berebrytta
Tranquil 16th century farmhouse in Shropshire with converted barns, land and shepherds huts
Period features, immaculate barn conversions, manicured gardens, private valley, renovated barns and outbuildings, shepherds huts, wood fired hot tub, yoga barn, stable bar, event space, ponds and stream. Located 10 miles from the historic town of Ludlow.
Set in 12 rolling acres, Berebrytta weaves historic charm with modern luxury. The newly restored Tudor farmhouse has been beautifully repaired and furnished, with all the period features one would expect alongside sumptuous bedrooms and glorious bathrooms. The light and airy kitchen diner and sitting rooms are versatile spaces restored to their former glory with great historic sympathy.
The converted Victorian red brick barns have also been thoughtfully restored into peaceful, light and restful accommodation with beautiful furnishings including vintage lighting and furniture, Indian bed throws, and original artworks. The is a double height space with suspended staircase above for shooting down onto the large dining area.
Outdoors, there is a multi purpose indoor barn space which would suit a number of purposes including yoga. There are fire pits and outdoor kitchen and eating spaces nestled into the rolling hills. There is a wellness spa area with wood-fired sauna, outdoor shower and wooden cold plunge bath. The stable bar is a wonderful place to entertain, or showcase your brand for bar shoots, dinner shoots or use for storytelling. Three shepherds huts sit away from the main buildings, elegantly furnished with William Morris wallpaper, one for sleeping, one for eating and one a well-equipped bathroom, outside these is a wood fired jacuzzi.
Berebrytta sits in a peaceful rural landscape with sheep and chickens and pigs and pretty and thoughtful planting. The land extends down to a stream with an appealing tree-lined pond and grass paddocks and meadows.
Berebrytta would be perfect for any countryside brand shoot and versatile for filming and also offers luxury, fully renovated accommodation for shoot and stays. Writing and yoga retreats would be wonderful here, the large and well equipped kitchens would also work well for cookery and workshops.
History and special interest
Berebrytta has a fascinating and long history. The farmhouse is Tudor and records of a dwelling here go back to the 14th century. Original oak beam carvings show evidence to suggest a royal visit to this gorgeous oak framed house which must have been very high status when built, and retains that sense of luxury and aura to this day.
The Victorian barns show the estate's more recent history, with many historic features intact including the wonderful old threshing barn, where the original threshing holes in the brick create a fabulous light.
Historic farm machinery that originated from the property is still dotted around the landscape. This includes the Perry cider making equipment alongside the ancient pear tree that supplied it.
