Angellic

A wonderful Georgian Hall, cottages, stable block and grounds on the border of Powys

Period features, wonderful interiors, Georgian stable block, cottages, studio and walled gardens. Located 6 miles from Welshpool.

Angellic is a wonderful Georgian Hall with 9 acres of gardens and grounds. It is currently being sympathetically restored including its huge brick built Georgian 2 storey stable block, wonderful small studio, cottages and walled garden.

Inside the Hall is wonderfully decorated with all original period features showcased with antique furniture, and interesting colours, wallpapers and eclectic feel. The small studio cottage in the grounds is similarly outfitted and is a wonderful space, originally built as a photographic studio for the owner's daughter.

The huge Georgian stable block is an incredible piece of history built in warm brick. The interiors are interesting and varied but also feel refined – any countryside brand would be fabulous here, as well as filming.

The grounds at Angellic are beautiful with an acre of large walled garden, lawns, wooded areas, and livestock fields including donkeys! Gravel paths wind through wild flower areas and there is a lovely lawned area in front of the house as well as various outbuildings and greenhouse. The studio in the grounds nestled in the trees is particularly photogenic.

There is plenty of accommodation here for shoot and stays as well as small artist, writer or photographic retreats or workshops.

History and special interest

The hall was built in 1815 and has had many fascinating owners, the first being the high sheriff of Montgomeryshire and his family. It was sold to another family in the legal world and during the war became a boarding school - the old school bell still hangs to the side of the house.

It was also home to Don Arnott, a famous nuclear physicist responsible for co-founding CND, his ashes are scattered under the huge copper beech tree at the front.
